Knowing Yourself | Enneagram | Self Awareness
So. Um. Does anyone else know how we got to Friday SO QUICKLY?!
One of the most pressing thoughts I've had this week has been the topic of "self awareness" and how that plays into my daily life.
It's not like I wasn't aware of my favorite colors (gold and pink;) or faaaveee fooooodd.
But around last August I had some burning questions for God. Like...why do I react the way I do in certain situations? Why I am I so invested in my relationships? Why am I lacking in self-confidence in certain situations?
That's when I discovered the Enneagram.
Now, if you don't have the time to research at least a few hours (it doesn't have to be all in one siting), then I don't recommend taking it.
I am a type 2 wing 3. AND IT'S CRAZY how accurate every little description is. Now, this isn't the case for everyone, but for me it is almost word for word how I feel about myself. Like...someone took my heart and wrote it it out. hahahaha.
It's okay to understand and question your reactions, motives, and actions.
I honestly think I started becoming more self aware by watching The Biggest Loser when I was younger. I realize that the show has a lot of stigma, but something that always resonated with me was the fact that they would dig deeper into the reason contestants had gained the weight.
Unhealthy habits can sneak in during our times of anxiety.
But you and I have it in us to do our best for today.
And may you accept grace for every shortcoming and mountaintop.
