We have today
I just came home from a weekend at home. I love trips home because they always remind me of who I am and where I'm meant to be.
I don't know about you, but I have the tendency to get so caught up in everything that I think about the past and future and sometimes present. Mainly it's a lot of overthinking.
This weekend was different. Usually downtown Charlottesville is where I go to pick up fresh flowers and yummy food and take way too many pictures. This time Charlottesville was full of chaos and tragedy. My heart felt broken and so at peace at the same time. Let me explain.
Broken because of all the hurting people. I am not victimized, but sure am empathetic. (If you want to know more of my thoughts about this past weekend, you can click here.)
Peace because tomorrow isn't promised, yet we have today.
To go off of my friend Paola's blog post today, we know what brokenness is because we have experienced some form of wholeness. In our hearts we hope that there is more.
So hold on to that hope, remember broken pieces, and take a step today.
